Jody Dharmawan

Jody started his career in a garment manufacturing company and he encouraged the owners to move downstream into a higher value-added business, fashion marketing and retailing. Restructured the group of companies and floated it to the Jakarta Stock Exchange. During the Asian Crisis when 85% of the companies in the country went technically insolvent, Jody led the company to a Group Debt Restructuring. Jody then negotiated with creditors, banks, government institutions, and labor unions, and the company debt was restructured.

Jody established a company that sells jeans through its own retail chain stores, currently with 100 outlets nationwide.

Jody is a tri-lingual and his exposure to a multicultural environment has helped him to appreciate differences and carry an open mind. Not believing that people can be managed has developed his leadership skill. Leading people to achieve a common goal and allowing them to manage their own activities by supplying them with the necessary tools and training has helped him accomplish many wonders.
